To ensure the optimal audio experience during your SPTV workout programs, it is crucial to have a balanced amplifier volume level. This is typically set once during your installation by an audio visual technician or installer.
Studio acoustics and sound preferences may vary, so adjustments post-installation may be required in some circumstances. However, it is important to understand how to set levels properly to avoid issues.
When other source volume (mainly your background music or mic is too loud), it can overpower the workout instructions and make it difficult to follow along. On the other hand, if the volume is too low, you may struggle to hear the music and motivational cues.
Please note that the volume output from your SPTV player is factory set to max output and cannot be adjusted. Therefore, your SPTV serves as the primary source level indicator for adjusting other sources such as music and microphone levels.Having a balanced amplifier volume not only improves the audio experience but also prevents any sound-related issues that may arise within your studio mix. It ensures that the background music device, such as the Mood media device, does not overpower the SPTV workout programs or hinder your ability to hear the instructions clearly.
To adjust the volume settings on your amplifier, you can follow these general steps (this varies per amplifier so refer to your amplifiers user guide for the detailed instructions if required else engage a technician to adjust this professionally).
Remember, the volume should be adjusted in a way that the background music device does not interfere with the workout instructions, creating a seamless audio experience.
Next, it's important to incorporate your microphone into the setup. During testing, focus on adjusting the mic input on the amplifier to ensure it is perfectly suited for the workout audio zone. If the mic is already adjusted and works then you should not touch this setting at all.
DO NOT max out any of the inputs on the amp or mic or sources, as this may introduce issues with mic dropping out / distortion, or your music cutting out if the mic is too high. This symptom of cutting out audio is common if you have input coming in too high and tripping out the amplifier. This is to protect your speakers and amplifier(s) from high input volumes which can damage it.
Another important consideration is that if the music level is too high or if the SPTV volume is too low, it could be due to incorrect adjustments on the amplifier for each of these audio sources. Some amplifiers may have individual volume controls for each input. If this is the case, look for input levels on the front of the amplifier that may be set too high or too low. Avoid touching any inputs that are turned off or at 0, and focus on finding the right balance. It's generally not recommended to adjust individual input levels on the amplifiers post-installation, but if you're still experiencing issues after following steps 1-7, this could be the potential cause.
If unable to resolve yourself, a technician is recommended instead of adjusting incorrectly.
